Presidents Report - December

09th December 2025

Dear Members,

Another 12 months seems to have slipped by as we rapidly close in on the festive season. No doubt many members will be heading off to all sorts of interesting locations over this period, and I look forward to hearing your stories next year.

Subscriptions 2026

Your committee met on Tuesday, December 2nd, and after reviewing the budget and the possible tax implications now being placed on Not-For-Profits, we approved an increase to the annual club subscription.
The new subscription rate is $92, and reminder emails will commence seven days prior to year-end.

As was the case last year, anyone paying online will not incur any additional fees, as the committee decided not to pass these on. Paying online also streamlines our behind-the-scenes processes, so we encourage you to consider this payment method.

Committee Positions

While our AGM date has not yet been set, we will be seeking a Treasurer and a Secretary, so I ask that members consider putting up their hand and giving back to the club by assisting in our operations. These roles aren’t onerous, but both are important to the ongoing smooth running of the club.

Anyone interested is welcome to speak with either myself or Brian Cosh if you are considering the Treasurer’s role.

SA Car Club Grant

We are pleased to share that we recently secured an SA Car Club Grant, supported by the Government of South Australia, for the amount of $3,529. This funding will allow us to purchase a new club-branded marquee with side walls, folding tables with Lycra tablecloths, and newly updated club brochures.
The primary use of these items will be for promotion at the 4WD Shows and other promotional events. They will also be used at club days such as Christmas and Peake.

These items have been discussed previously; however, we were reluctant to purchase them using club funds. This grant now provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen our branding and presence at key membership recruitment events.

The club’s Christmas Party was once again a great success, made possible by the hard work of John and Chris. We appreciate their efforts in making these events so enjoyable and thank the other helpers on the day.

In conclusion, I would like to thank all members for their support throughout 2025. I wish you all a happy and safe festive season and look forward to seeing you at our club events in 2026.

Warm regards,
Andrew Gay
