Route: Anne Beadell Hwy (via either Coober Pedy or Ceduna/Maralinga), Point Sunday Road, Great Central Road, Tjukayirla Roadhouse, David Carnegie Road, Gunbarrel Hwy, Heather Hwy, Great Central Road, Sandy Blight Junction Road, Gary Junction Road, Namatjira-Kintore Link, Namatjira Drive, Alice Springs, Ghan Heritage Road, Mount Dare Road, Oodnadatta Track, Kempe Road, Old Stuart Highway (if permitted), Stuart Highway, Adelaide.
Departure: July 18. Meet at The Port Augusta Wharf 11.30am
Duration: 3-4 weeks. Option to return home from Alice Springs via Stuart Highway. Optional alternative route from Alice Springs via Old Andado
Rating: Easy to Medium (possible scratching from overgrown tracks)
Vehicle Requirements: High clearance low range 4WD, 2 spare wheels, basic recovery equipment (long handle shovel, snatch strap), 900km fuel range, not suitable for vans or trailers.
Food and water: Limited basic supplies available en-route - carry 3 weeks supply.
