Morgan Training / Practice & Social Driving Weekend
Description (general):
• A fun couple of days driving and socialising with the Nissan 4wd Club
• Quarry area closed to general public - Controlled access by key
• Rock/ dirt driving - Tracks through scrub - Steep hill driving - uphill, downhill
• Slippery surfaces - Creek crossings (usually no water) - Mud sometimes available.
Description (4WD driving development):
• Designed to familiarise you with your 4WD
• Qualified advisers
• Rock/ dirt driving - Tyre pressures - Steep hill driving - uphill, downhill.
• Dealing with difficulties in hill driving - emergency descents (up and downhill).
• Slippery surfaces - Creek crossings (usually no water) - Convoy procedures
Time Table:
Friday pm OHS check of driving areas (Council requirements)
Saturday 9.00am – 4:30pm quarry access
Saturday 6.30pm-ish, Pub meal
Sunday 9.00am – 12.30pm mystery drive practising convoy procedures
Distance: 160km from Adelaide.
Fuel/ Supplies: Available at Morgan
Accommodation: Club members usually stay at Morgan Caravan Park (08) 8540 2207 (info@morganriversidecaravanpark.com.au) which caters for Tents, Caravans, and Camper Trailers. Cabins available. Please quote that you are with the Mitsubishi Club and leave a deposit for your site.
Vehicles: 4WD, good mechanical condition, good tyres and spare.
Equipment: First aid kit. Fire extinguisher. Recovery equipment. Air compressor (if you don't have these yet, you can still come).
Communications: UHF CB (required – can borrow club CB)
Costs: Caravan Park fees + $50 per vehicle
Vehicle Nos: Driver Familiarisation - Max 12
Social Driving - 8 or many more (depends on the number of experienced club drivers in attendance)
