Long Trips Meeting

A challenging 2014 trip across the dry soft sands of Queensland’s Simpson Desert. (Many 4wd recoveries). This crossing was part of a trip along the Madigan Line. The complete trip was Adelaide, Oodnadatta Track, Mount Dare, Old Andado Station, Madigan's 1939 route: Finally, Birdsville to Adelaide.
Cecil Madigan crossed the Northern Simpson in 1939. In his group were 9 men and 19 camels. They concluded they had just crossed a ‘wasteland’.

The majority of Members attending enjoy a meal prior to meeting at 7:15pm, Drinks are available from 5:00pm and Meals can be ordered from 5:30pm.
